About the event

Tackling one of the greatest environmental threats to humanity, climate change;

  • How much do we consider resources in proposing to upgrade our built environment and to convert our current lifestyles to run on renewable energy?
  • Since economies revolve around debt and future earnings, if resources – particularly ‘dependable, abundant oil’ and other fossil fuels - are indeed subject to diminishing returns, are we looking at an alternative trajectory?
  • Where does renewable energy fit in and what do diminishing ‘energy profits’ mean for building services engineers and the real economy?

This seminar suggests some answers, and makes startling connections between energy, economy and environment. These seminars to CIBSE Regions have been widely described as enlightening evenings which get people thinking, researching, and seeing different perspectives on our society, and our own futures.
